Visit from the ambulance service & first responders

Recently, the kindergarten children of the bilingual Little Feet - big steps children's house were visited by an ambulance from Aicher Ambulanz and the First Responder from Poing from the Red Cross.

The latter is an additional link in the rescue chain. First responders are always deployed when the volunteer helpers can reach the scene of an emergency faster than the rescue service or when the nearest rescue vehicle is still in use. They are alerted at the same time as the regular rescue service.

The visit was made possible by the mother of a child at our facility, Mrs. Stefanie Häcker, as part of our “Guest of the Week” series. The children were allowed to take a detailed look at the ambulance and the emergency vehicle and get to know the entire inventory. This way, they lose their fear of an ambulance and its crew in an emergency and understand that it comes to the rescue. The children also learned a lot about first aid and first aiders and how they can call for help themselves.

Many thanks to everyone involved for the successful campaign!
