Forest week

The children of the bilingual children’s house Little Feet – big steps regularly have the opportunity to take part in forest days at Kinderland’s Lärchenvilla, a forestry trailer in the Gruber Taxet.

Usually, we start at 8:30 in the morning to start our forest exploration by riding the cargo bikes to the edge of the forest. On day one of our forest week, getting to know the environment is important as the play takes place in a large area of a forest between Grub and Poing. The following day the children traditionally repair the existing tree houses or even build new ones by using the branches they find on the forest floor. This time, we also discovered a field of energy plants, with plenty of deep holes in the ground and, nearby, several seedlings of new trees. On day three, our last day in the forest, we had a pleasant surprise. It was the first day of snow and the seedlings were planted and labeled. It was a lot of fun building a snowman between newly planted fruit trees. We are excited to see how tall the trees will grow by next year.
