Sunflowers as inspiration

At the end of summer, the Dinos, the preschoolers in our bilingual children's house, made beautiful sunflowers out of strips of paper, which now decorate their room in autumnal style.

Another popular activity was to pull sunflower seeds from a dried sunflower head out of the base of the flower with tweezers and collect them in a bowl. This game encourages tweezer grip, eye-hand coordination and concentration. The children become completely absorbed in their task during this activity and often harvest until there is not a single seed left.
